Matter numbers are reasonable, a few more Mortgagee sales are occurring and increasingly so from the BIG FOUR as opposed from the third tier Lenders as has been in the past, Members are still experiencing some Buyers making outrageous demands as a result of poor pre-purchase inspection reports. Sellers are left between a rock and hard place. If they refuse to attend to the demands invariably, they lose their sale.

E-Conveyancing

Members read in a report provided by National that was written by ACCC that the NT (along with Tasmania and the ACT) may have E-Conveyancing by 2022; subject to funding.

Alice Springs Visit

While Nicole Myler and Sandra Lenz were in Alice Springs recently, attending an Agents Licensing Board meeting, they took the opportunity to wine and dine with the Licensed Conveyancers in the Centre. They caught up on the vagaries and experiences of a Conveyancer in Central Australia. Not surprising, same as those in the Top End.

Premises

We were obligated to vacate our premises for the past 6 weeks while our Landlord (The Fidelity Fund) had works carried out to install a washroom and ramp to allow wheelchair access.
AICNT with the NT Law Society and the Real Estate Institute offices are in the one complex and can now offer their Members a comfortable meeting place and a video conference / training room.
